News from the Frantic Heart of It

The Band of the Now podcast remains in limbo for now, but many of the bands featured are still going strong.  I just received the following update from Doug, of The Frantic Heart of It:
I've been officially in remission from leukemia for about 6 months now (woohoo!!!) which has made it easier for us to book shows.  We're even going to venture out of town next month.  Parker is moving back to Vancouver in a few months.  We'll be playing our last show with him on August 28th and the following week we'll be playing our first show with our new drummer, Kevin, who is a fine young man with a mohawk and a much more aggressive playing style than Parker has.  This will change our sound but we're into it.  We've been writing new stuff and so on as well.
You can always get the latest for The Frantic Heart of It at their website, here

Who am I kidding?

Time keeps passing, and podcasts don't get made.  Two kids, classes to teach, a PhD in limbo, and assorted other obligations are as much as (or more than) I can handle right now.  There are a few bands I invited to send me stuff that expressed interest but didn't send me any music/bio/what-have-you; if any of them eventually respond, there will be further podcasts, at irregular intervals.  Otherwise, though, Band of the Now is on hiatus for an indefinite period.  Thanks to those who listened, and those whose music made me want to do this.

Right Through

Right Through: walking a line between careful consideration of a "less is more" aesthetic and a youthful desire to play as loud and hard as possible.

The Frantic Heart of It

The Frantic Heart of It: What it sounds like when punk gets a little older and starts to learn a few old country or folk tunes, and maybe drunkenly convinces everyone that a glockenspiel solo would sound good right there.
